Hyderabad fuel shortage triggers long queues across Telangana

HYDERABAD: A shortage of petrol and diesel across Telangana is causing severe inconvenience to motorists. Long queues are visible at petrol pumps from major cities to villages.
Many fuel stations have displayed “no stock” boards after supply disruptions. Vehicles are lined up for kilometres at pumps in areas such as Gachibowli, Kukatpally and LB Nagar in Hyderabad.
Traffic congestion worsens as vehicles spill onto main roads
The rush that began in the morning has continued past midnight. Motorists are waiting for hours amid uncertainty over when fuel stocks may run out.
Vehicles queuing outside pumps are spilling onto roads, leading to traffic jams at several locations. Office-goers, delivery workers and drivers of emergency service vehicles are facing hardship due to the shortage.
Officials deny shortage even as queues continue at pumps
Heavy crowds have gathered at petrol pumps since morning. Authorities have announced that there is no fuel shortage and that adequate stock is available.
However, public anxiety over a possible shortage has led to panic buying. Many motorists are opting for full-tank refuelling, resulting in rapid depletion of available stocks at several outlets.
