Fuel price hike raises burden on Telangana

HYDERABAD: The latest increase in petrol and diesel prices is expected to add to the financial burden on consumers in Telangana.
According to petroleum dealers’ data, petrol and diesel prices in the state have risen sharply over the past 10 days. With the latest revision, petrol prices have increased by ₹8.23 per litre and diesel prices by ₹8.12 per litre during the period.
Hyderabad fuel prices cross ₹115 per litre
Following the latest hike, petrol in Hyderabad is priced at ₹115.62 per litre, while diesel costs ₹103.76 per litre.
Industry estimates show that around 60 lakh litres of petrol and 70 lakh litres of diesel are sold daily in Telangana. Based on current consumption levels, the latest increase in fuel prices could impose an additional annual burden of about ₹3,877 crore on consumers across the state.
Telangana among states hit by rising fuel costs
The rise in fuel prices is expected to increase transportation and household expenses, affecting consumers across Telangana. Hyderabad continues to record some of the highest fuel prices in the region, with petrol remaining above ₹115 per litre.
