Hyderabad Launches Three-Month Free Anti-Rabies Vaccination Drive for Community Dogs

HYDERABAD: Citizens for Animals (CFA), along with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Mission Rabies and WVS India, has started a three-month free anti-rabies vaccination campaign for community dogs across Hyderabad.
The campaign began on July 5 and will continue until World Rabies Day on September 28. The organisers aim to vaccinate thousands of community dogs and strengthen rabies prevention across the city.
Vaccination teams will visit different localities every day. They will provide free anti-rabies vaccines to community dogs. Residents can support the drive by identifying community dogs in their neighbourhoods and helping vaccination teams reach them.
Mass Vaccination Can Prevent Rabies
Citizens for Animals said rabies is a preventable but deadly disease. The organisation added that vaccinating a large number of dogs is the most effective way to stop dog-mediated human rabies.
The campaign aims to increase vaccination coverage, encourage public participation and move Hyderabad closer to becoming rabies-free.
Follow Daily Vaccination Schedule
Citizens for Animals has asked residents to follow its social media pages for daily updates. The pages will share the vaccination schedule and the locations where teams will conduct the drive.
