Hyderabad: Indian Super League 2024-25, HFC vs EBFC: Hyderabad FC (HFC) and East Bengal FC (EBFC) will lock horns in an Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 match at the GMC Balayogi Athletic Stadium, Hyderabad on Saturday. The double header is scheduled to begin at 5 pm IST.

There have been nine encounters between the two sides in the Indian Super League. East Bengal FC is expected to continue its dominance over Hyderabad FC in today’s match.

The two sides have met eight times in the ISL season. Hyderabad FC have won four matches whereas East Bengal FC won twice while two games ended in a draw.

With two wins in its kitty including a league double in the 2023-24 season, East Bengal FC will adopt an aggressive approach while Hyderabad FC will try to turn their fortunes around after a dismal performance in their last five matches in the league.

East Bengal FC nicknamed Red and Gold Brigade have won four out of five ISL meetings. They are ranked 11 in the table with 13 points from 12 matches whereas Hyderabad FC scored only seven points from the same number of games and are placed at 12th position. The last five games have boosted the morale of the visitors and they are hoping to decide the outcome of this match.

An analysis of the Hyderabad FC games reveal that the home side has allowed 25 goals in 12 matches this season and the team also has given away 15 strikes in their last five matches including the 6-0 loss to Odisha FC and the 5-2 setback against NorthEast United FC.

However, defender Alex Saji has been on a roll, averaging 5.8 clearances per game, which is the highest among Indian players this season. He may exploit the situation as East Bengal FC has never won three consecutive games in their ISL history. The Red and Gold Brigade will play aggressively to set a new record.
