HYDERABAD: Police conducted surprise inspections on 39 farmhouses under the limits of Mudimyal village in Chevella mandal and Tolkatta village in Moinabad mandal on November 1 and 2. The checks were supervised by Yogesh Goutam, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rajendranagar Zone, along with police teams.

Hookah, liquor and unauthorised events found

During the inspections, several violations were detected. Hookah consumption was found at Azeemuddin Farmhouse in Tolkatta village. At Pranava Villa Hills, also in Tolkatta, 18 beer bottles and one full bottle of whisky were seized for excise violations.

An unauthorised ticketed event with 29 attendees, including women and men, was found at 12 Farm in Tolkatta. Police reported loud music, firecrackers and used liquor bottles of various brands at the site. Drug tests were conducted on suspects, all of whom tested negative.

In Mudimyal village, hookah was found inside a vehicle. Another unauthorised event was detected at Rithika Farmhouse in Mudimyal, where about 150 students from Slate School — both boys and girls — had arrived in 10 buses. Police found an unauthorised sound system and a few individuals consuming liquor.

Vehicle checks, fines and cases filed

Alongside the farmhouse raids, vehicle checks were carried out in Tolkatta with two teams comprising the Special Operations Team and Traffic Police. They checked 120 four-wheelers, 30 three-wheelers and 15 two-wheelers. Three drink-and-drive cases were booked, three vehicles were detained, and fines totalling ₹30,000 were collected.

Four cases are being registered against the organisers and farmhouse owners for the violations.

Police have instructed all farmhouse managements to obtain prior permission before hosting any event. They emphasised that if liquor is to be served, permission from the Excise Department is mandatory. Violators will face strict legal action, officials said.
