Desperate Plea: Hyderabad family seeks help to locate missing son in Saudi Arabia
Hyderabad: A family from Hyderabad is desperately seeking the intervention of the Ministry of External Affairs to locate and rescue their 27-year-old son, Mohammed Adil Pasha, who is reportedly stranded in Saudi Arabia. He is reportedly showing signs of mental distress while stranded in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, after being assaulted by his in-laws. It has been over two weeks since his parents lost communication with him, and they are anxious about his well-being.
Mohammed Adil Pasha, a resident of Errakunta, Maisram, Hyderabad, went to Jeddah on July 26, 2024, to work as a delivery boy. The situation took a troubling turn when he met his wife Uzma Maryam and in-laws, who were there for Umrah, an Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, on November 1, 2024.
Speaking to HyderabadMail, an anxious Mohammed Chand Pasha, father of Mohammed Adil Pasha, said, “We got to know that an argument broke out between my son and daughter-in-law. Subsequently, his brothers-in-law, Md Mansoor and Mohd Wasif, and father-in-law, Mohd Masood, assaulted my son. The incident, which resulted in injuries requiring hospital treatment, was reported to Jeddah Police.”
Family appeals to MEA for help
Regarding his son’s marital issues, Chand Pasha said, “He married in 2021, and to our knowledge, there were no disturbances in their married life. We contacted our daughter-in-law to know about what happened in Jeddah. She informed us about an argument between her brothers and my son and said she didn’t know more about it.”
The victim’s family lost contact with him for over a week, while his in-laws returned to Hyderabad. He further added that Saudi Arabia’s laws are strict. After this kind of incident, the perpetrators would be jailed, but my son’s in-laws returned to India claiming he’s mentally disturbed. Since the incident, Pasha has reportedly been displaying concerning behavior, with witnesses stating he’s been seen roaming the streets of Jeddah partially unclothed and showing signs of mental disturbance.
His distressed parents, Mohammed Chand Pasha and Naseem Begum, have approached Majlis Bachao Tahreek (MBT) leader Amjed Ullah Khan for help. Subsequently, the MBT leader has appealed to S. Jaishankar, Minister for External Affairs, requesting immediate intervention to locate their son and facilitate his safe return to India. The family has requested the Consulate General of India in Jeddah to locate Pasha and arrange his return to India.
