Goa liquor worth ₹4.5 lakh seized in Hyderabad
HYDERABAD: The Telangana Prohibition and Excise Department seized liquor bottles worth ₹4.5 lakh during a late-night raid on vehicles coming from Goa, Haryana, Meghalaya.
Six arrested, multiple cars seized
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Enforcement Director Shahnawaz Qasim as part of a special drive against non-duty paid liquor (NDPL). Teams from the Ranga Reddy enforcement unit, led by Assistant Enforcement Superintendent Jeevan Kiran, conducted checks at Pahadishareef crossroads from 9 pm on Tuesday till early Wednesday.
During the checks, officials intercepted vehicles from Goa, Haryana and Meghalaya. They recovered 88 liquor bottles valued at around ₹4.5 lakh. Cases were registered against six persons. Both the seized liquor and the accused were handed over to Saroornagar excise station.
