Hyderabad sees hail, thunderstorm amid summer heat
HYDERABAD: Rain accompanied by thunder and lightning lashed parts of the city on Wednesday evening, bringing relief to residents during peak summer conditions.
Light showers cooled several neighbourhoods, while some areas reported hail. There were also reports of lightning strikes in a few localities.
Rainfall was recorded in Vanasthalipuram, L.B. Nagar, Hayathnagar, Saroornagar, Dilsukhnagar and Gayatri Nagar Bank Colony, among other areas.
City records cooler conditions after back-to-back showers
The showers offered respite as temperatures had remained high in recent days. Rainfall was also recorded on Tuesday evening, and continued showers on Wednesday led to a drop in temperatures across the city.
Light to moderate rain likely across Telangana
Officials of the Hyderabad Meteorological Department said rain is likely to continue for the next two days. Several districts in Telangana also witnessed light to moderate rainfall.
