Elevated Corridor Construction Plan Linking Paradise Junction To Shamirpet And Nh 44 In Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The Shanghai-headquartered New Development Bank (NDB) will fund two major elevated corridor projects in the city to ease traffic congestion in core areas.

Both corridors will start from Paradise Junction in Secunderabad. One will run towards Shamirpet on the Outer Ring Road along Rajiv Rahadari (SH-01), while the other will connect to Dairy Farm Road on NH-44.

The total project cost stands at ₹5,106 crore. Of this, the NDB will contribute ₹3,574 crore, covering 70% of the funding. Meanwhile, the state government will soon sign a formal agreement with the bank, according to official sources.

State to bear 30% share, land costs detailed

The state government has already granted administrative sanction for the project. It has allocated ₹3,619 crore for the SH-01 corridor to Shamirpet and ₹1,487 crore for the NH-44 corridor.

According to the preliminary project proposal report (PPR), the state will bear ₹1,532 crore, or 30% of the total cost. In contrast, the NDB will finance the remaining ₹3,574 crore through external assistance.

Land acquisition will require ₹1,565.65 crore for the SH-01 corridor and ₹375.03 crore for the NH-44 stretch. In addition, construction costs are estimated at ₹2,232.89 crore and ₹652.08 crore, respectively.

The government has also allowed officials to upload the PPR on the NITI Aayog platform for further processing with the Centre and the NDB, which has already shown interest in funding the project.

NDB missions conducted appraisal visits

Earlier, an NDB fact-finding team visited Hyderabad on November 17 and 18, 2025. Subsequently, a nine-member appraisal team from its Shanghai and India offices carried out a final review on January 19, 2026.

Officials added that the bank will offer the loan at a lower interest rate compared to commercial banks in India.
