Drunk driver rams speeding car into bike, two engineering students killed in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Two engineering students died after a drunk driver rammed a speeding car into their two-wheeler near Hastinapuram under Vanasthalipuram police station limits in Hyderabad, police said.
K. Shiva, 19, and Sandeep Joel, 19, both second-year Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) students at Mahaveer Engineering College, were riding a motorcycle when a Honda City car approached from behind at high speed and hit them. The vehicle also struck a pedestrian.

After colliding with the bike, the car spiralled out of control and flipped multiple times before coming to rest upside down on the road, according to police.
Both students died in the crash. The injured pedestrian, identified as Sridhar, 23, was shifted to a private hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.
Police arrested the car driver and registered a case. Further investigation is under way.
