Hyderabad police busts drug racket and arrests five peddlers at Bahadurpura
Hyderabad: Telangana Anti Narcotics bureau (TGNAB) busted a drug peddling racket and arrested five in connection with the same. The police have seized 34 grams MDMA worth four lakhs. The gang employed women to evade police and smuggle narcotics drugs, said police.
The police arrested the accused persons who came to Hasan Nagar cross roads to sell the 34 grams of MDMA to needy customers, in the meantime on credible information the TGNAB staff along with Bahadurpura Police apprehended them and seized drugs from their possession. The accused have been identified as Syed Faisal, Masrath Unnisa Begum,Junaid Khan,Mohammed Abrar Uddin and Rahmath Khan.
According to the police the drug peddlers Syed Faisal, Mohammed Abrar Uddin, Rahmath Khan and Junaid Khan are friends and the woman drug peddler Masrath Unnisa Begum is the wife of Syed Faisal. All of them formed into a gang and ventured into the illegal narcotic drug business.
Investigation revealed that they purchased the MDMA (Psychotropic Substance) in Bangalore for a lower price and selling the same to the needy customers in Hyderabad at the rate of Rs.8,000 per gram.
“The main drug peddler Syed Faisal who was previously arrested in two NDPS cases under Amberpet Police Station and Prohibition & Excise PS, Balanagar is again caught red handedly when he was in possession of MDMA drug which earlier brought from Bangalore. He along with his wife Masrath Unnisa Begum and other associates Mohammed Abrar Uddin, Rahmath Khan and Junaid Khan are purchasing MDMA drug from Bangalore from their known sources and selling to the needy customers in Hyderabad,” said Hyderabad police in an official statement.
Further probe revealed that Syed Faisal is using his wife as a transporter of drugs to escape from the police surveillance. About one week back the accused persons Syed Faisal, Masrath Unnisa Begum, Mohammed Abrar Uddin and Rahmath Khan went to Bangalore where they met with the another accused Junaid Khan, all of them purchased 34 grams of MDMA from their known sources and reached Hyderabad.
As of now 19 consumers are identified who are regularly purchasing MDMA from them. Further probe is on.
