Drone ban in Hyderabad during Miss World 2025 events

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad City Police have imposed a temporary ban on drone and aerial device operations in parts of the city during the Miss World contest, which is being held in Telangana from May 4 to June 2, 2025.
Commissioner of Police C.V. Anand, IPS, issued the order under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (previously Section 144 of the CrPC). The restriction applies to the use of remotely controlled drones, para-gliders, and micro-light aircrafts in areas under the jurisdiction of the Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate.
The decision has been taken to ensure public safety and the security of Miss World contestants during their scheduled visits to key locations in the city.
On May 13, the ban will be enforced around Charminar and Laad Bazaar, as well as Chowmahalla Palace in Shalibanda. It will also be in effect on May 18 around the Telangana Police Integrated Command Control Centre at Road No. 12, Banjara Hills, and the Telangana State Secretariat and Tank Bund area.
The final restriction will be in place on June 2 around Raj Bhavan on Somajiguda Road. In each of these locations, flying activities will be prohibited within a 3-kilometer radius on the respective dates. Anyone found violating the order will be liable for action under relevant sections of law.
