Hyderabad doctor held by Gujarat ATS for alleged mass poisoning plot

HYDERABAD: The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested a Hyderabad-based doctor, Ahmed Mohiuddin Syed, from Rajendranagar on charges of plotting a mass poisoning attack.
According to investigators, Moinuddin was allegedly preparing a resin-based poison under the instructions of a handler from Pakistan. The ATS seized several materials related to the toxin’s preparation from his possession.
Planned to poison water tanks and temples using resin compound
Officials said the accused had conspired to mix the toxic resin in temple premises and public water tanks to cause mass casualties.
Sources said Moinuddin, who completed his MBBS in China, had been practising online consultation services from Hyderabad after returning to India.
The Gujarat ATS has so far arrested five people, including Moinuddin, in connection with the case. The investigation is continuing into possible local links and financial support.
