HYDERABAD: Hyderabad police commissioner V C Sajjanar conducted a midnight patrol across the South West Zone to review night policing and assess on-ground readiness. The inspection was carried out between 00.00 and 03.00 IST in areas under Langar Houz and Toli Chowki police stations.

Sajjanar visited the residences of several rowdy-sheeters in MD Lines, Asham Nagar and Defence Colony under Langar Houz police station limits. He enquired about their past conduct, current occupation and lifestyle. He cautioned them against returning to criminal activity and advised them to maintain good conduct.

Commissioner inspects roads, junctions and late-night activity

During the patrol, the commissioner examined key roads, junctions and sensitive points in the zone. He also inspected hotels, shops and late-night establishments in Toli Chowki, advising owners not to operate beyond permitted hours.

Sajjanar interacted with patrolling teams and officers on night duty, checking patrol points, response timings and issue-resolution processes.

Station records, duty rosters checked

At Toli Chowki police station, he reviewed the Station General Diary, night entries, duty rosters and attendance registers to verify operational readiness.

Speaking during the inspection, Sajjanar said such surprise checks are part of continuous efforts to strengthen night policing under the People’s Welfare Policing initiative. He stressed accountability, improved response and public safety.

He instructed officers to maintain visible policing and remain alert during night hours. Vigilant monitoring and prompt response, he said, were essential for public confidence in the police.
