Hyderabad consultancy owner killed; accused held within 24 hours

HYDERABAD: A job consultancy owner was killed and an employee injured in a knife attack at an office in Engineers Colony on March 10, 2026.
According to police, Dulipadu Akshaya alias Sai Shruti, 23, who works as a human resources executive at Best Group of Services consultancy, lodged a complaint. Around 2.10 pm, an unidentified man aged about 20–25 came to the office and argued over dissatisfaction with a job arranged through the consultancy. He demanded a refund of the money paid and wages for the days he worked.
Victim sustains multiple stab wounds; dies at private hospital
Akshaya asked him to sit in the counselling room and informed owner Jaggavarapu Sashi Kiran Reddy, 35. While the owner was speaking to the man, loud screams were heard from inside.
At about 2.25 pm, the accused came out holding a knife and stabbed Akshaya on the left shoulder before fleeing. Staff later found Reddy lying in a pool of blood inside the room. Police said he had about 23 stab injuries.
He was shifted to Astro Prime Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
A case was registered at Madhura Nagar police station as Crime No. 184/2026 under Sections 103(1), 109, 329(4), 127(2), 351(2) and 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Police trace accused using technical evidence and field inputs
Based on technical evidence and field-level information, police detained Pollamari Shetty Prabhu Kumar alias Shanu, 19, near Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad.
They seized the knife used in the offence, an iPhone-15 and four stolen mobile phones from his possession.
On March 12, 2026, the accused, son of P. Rajender Prasad and a private employee residing at U.K. Guda near Ramoji Film City, was produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody. He is originally from Ganaparthi village in Munagapaka mandal of Visakhapatnam district, Andhra Pradesh.
The investigation was carried out under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner of Police S. Venkat Reddy of Banjara Hills division, Jubilee Hills zone. Madhura Nagar police station Inspector H. Prabhakar, along with the detective inspector and staff, traced and arrested the accused.
