Hyderabad-based comedian arrested in Porsche car crash case
Hyderabad: Standup comedian Utsav Dixit was arrested on Friday, November 1, for reckless driving. He rammed his speeding Porsche into the boundary of the famous KBR park.
The 33-year-old Utsav Dixit, a city-based comedian and businessman, is accused of rash driving and hitting his car against the boundary walls of the massive park located in the heart of Banjara Hills. According to reports, the driver fled the scene, raising suspicions that he may have been under the influence of alcohol. The Banjara Hills police stated that the car’s airbag deployed, helping to avert what could have been a fatal accident.
Following the incident, a case of negligent driving was registered against Dixit at Banjara Hills police station under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicle Act.
During the investigation, the police assessed the damage to the wall, grills, and pavement of the park caused by the Porsche car accident. The viral images of the car crash showed that the bonnet of the luxurious car was severely damaged.
After verifying the available evidence, the police traced and arrested Dixit. They seized his Driving License and sent it to the concerned RTO for disqualification as per Sec. 19 of MV Act. The accused was sent to the hospital for medical examination for alcohol and drug tests.
