After much ado, the Hyderabad City police website is back in action

Hyderabad: Hyderabad City police website is back in action after being inaccessible for nearly three months. In this period, several residents have complained that they are unable to avail the contact number of the police personnel from their respective jurisdiction.
The Hyderabad City police informed the same through their official X handle, a microblogging site formerly known as Twitter. In an X post, the city police said, “We are Back in action and stronger than ever… Hyderabad City Police website is live and at your service.”
Now, the revamped Hyderabad Police website is providing detailed updated contact numbers of the police personnel from particular police stations. Citizens and the press can reach out to them directly in case of any emergency.
Using the Hyderabad Police website, citizens can avail several services including lodging a petition, passport verification status, viewing and printing FIR, knowing E-challan details among others services.
Earlier, in the month of June, the website was closed for maintenance, after a reported data breach of the Hawk Eye application of the Telangana police by a miscreant. In connection with the case, the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) arrested a hacker involved in the data breach of the police department. The accused is identified as a 20 year old student, Jatin Kumar, a resident of Greater Noida. The accused also posted the breached data, consisting of sensitive data, on breach platforms for a certain amount of money. Now, after this breach, the Hyderabad Police took nearly three months to take security measures for their website.
Cyberabad and Rachakonda Commissionarates yet to be back
While the Hyderabad Police Commissionerate is back, the Cyberabad and the Rachakonda Commissionarate websites are still not available for public use. When we tried accessing them, they were not available. Meanwhile, the Telangana Police website is already accessible to the users.
