Hyderabad citizen exposes traffic bottlenecks in Cyberabad

Cyberabad: Hyderabad citizen and social activist Amar Kokkanti has raised serious concerns regarding the traffic congestion plaguing the Cyberabad areas, particularly from Hafeezpet to Kondapur and Kothaguda. Using the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Amar Kokkanti tagged the Cyberabad Traffic Police to highlight his observed bottlenecks and unsafe conditions.
Amar pointed out specific trouble spots, such as the area opposite KIMS Hospital in Kondapur and the traffic intersection at Hafeezpet. He criticised the “inefficient and ineffective” layout of the traffic signals and the significant number of autos stopping in the area, which contribute to chaotic traffic conditions exacerbated by potholes.
One major issue Amar Kokkanti identified was the traffic signal between Pillars 42 and 43, which he claimed allows vehicles to move forward from Kothaguda to Hafeezpet. However, the layout creates a bottleneck as vehicles often block forward-moving traffic. “This is an absolute traffic nightmare area. Please fix this poorly designed intersection; it puts citizens at high risk,” Amar urged the Cyberabad Traffic Police.

Amar also addressed the Commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), highlighting additional concerns such as potholes obstructing traffic movement near Pillar no. 43. He expressed frustration over autos waiting to drop off passengers, particularly around the bridge and near a nearby mosque, where waiting citizens occupy a quarter of the road, causing further congestion.
“This situation increases the likelihood of accidents. At the very least, please consider providing a stainless steel barricade or bus stop to prevent individuals from stepping into traffic,” he said.
Another significant issue raised by Amar Kokkanti was the long queues of autos in front of the Shah Ghouse Hotel, which he noted were causing blockages near the newly constructed flyover area. He suggested that a monthly inspection by the Cyberabad Traffic Police and the Cyberabad Police Officials could help alleviate these ongoing traffic problems.
In response to Amar Kokkanti’s concerns, the Cyberabad Traffic Police official handle assured him that they would investigate the issues raised. They later confirmed, “Informed to an officer, he will look into it.”
