Friend-led gang steals ₹40 lakh from Charminar trader

HYDERABAD: Police on Friday arrested four men for stealing ₹40 lakh from a bangle trader’s house in the Talab Katta area under Bhavaninagar police station limits. One of the accused was a close friend of the trader.
Trader kept cash at home after land sale
Bhavaninagar inspector Balaswamy, detective inspector Narsimha Naik and South Zone Task Force inspector Adireddy briefed the case details at Puranihaveli along with Mirchowk assistant commissioner of police G Shyamasundar.
Police said Mohammad Sultan, 34, from Bihar, had come to Hyderabad for his livelihood and was running a raw bangles business at Talab Katta. He recently sold land in Bihar and kept ₹40 lakh at his house. He told his friend, Mohammad Zahid, 37, who also trades in bangles in the same area, that he planned to buy a house in Hyderabad.
Friend planned the theft with three others
Zahid then allegedly planned the theft. He roped in three associates car driver Irfan, 30, from Talab Katta, Rapido driver Mudda Sheer, 19, and Mohammad Abdul Rahman, 25, a daily-wage worker from Mailardevpally.
CCTV removed, trader tied up and threatened
On November 30, the group entered Sultan’s house, removed the CCTV cameras, tied him with ropes and threatened him with a knife before fleeing with the cash.
Police said all four accused have been arrested.
