How a simple request for a phone call ended in alleged theft at a Hyderabad hotel

HYDERABAD: A mobile phone theft was captured on a CCTV camera at a tea hotel in Hyderabad after a man allegedly fled with a worker’s phone that he had borrowed on the pretext of making a call.
The incident occurred at Chai Piyo Hotel, located under the jurisdiction of Kalapathar police station.
According to information provided by the hotel management, the man approached a worker and requested the mobile phone to make a call. After using the phone, he allegedly left the premises without returning it.
The hotel’s owner, Sohail, said a complaint had been lodged with the police. He urged authorities to identify and apprehend the accused.

Police complaint lodged after incident
Sohail also released CCTV footage of the suspect and appealed to the police to take strict action in the case. The footage reportedly shows the man involved in the alleged theft.
Police are expected to examine the CCTV footage as part of the investigation.
