Charminar Zone Task Force Cracks Steroid Racket, Two Held
HYDERABAD: The Charminar Zone Task Force police have busted a racket involved in the illegal sale of banned steroid injections in Chaderghat, officials said.
Acting on a tip-off, police apprehended two persons—Shaik Sameer and Wasim Khan—from Old Malakpet. They were allegedly selling banned Mephentermine injections without prescriptions.
Case booked against four persons, probe continues
Police seized 20 injections, three mobile phones and a motorcycle from the accused.
During questioning, the duo said they procured the injections through courier services from Delhi and sold them illegally.
A case has been registered against four persons. Further investigation is underway.
Authorities said the illegal sale of such steroids poses serious health risks. Misuse can lead to complications including heart problems and hormonal imbalance. Police stressed that public awareness is key to curbing such activities.
