Two dead, multiple injured in highway collision involving car & truck in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Two people were killed and at least seven others injured in a collision between a car and a DCM truck on the national highway at Lali Gadi Malakpet, near Genome Valley, on the outskirts of the city, early on the morning of April 8, 2025.
According to reports, the driver of a TATA Safari, traveling from Siddipet towards Hyderabad, lost control of the vehicle, which hit a road median. The car then crossed over to the opposite side of the highway, colliding head-on with an oncoming truck.
The deceased have been identified as Raju, a resident of Wargal in Siddipet district, and Shravan from Muraripally. There were six people in the Safari and three in the truck at the time of the incident.
The injured were transported to a nearby hospital, with one reported to be in critical condition. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the accident.
This accident adds to a recent series of fatal incidents in the city. On March 22, 2025, T.M. Nandeeswara Babji, an Additional Deputy Superintendent of Police, was killed when an APSRTC bus struck him while he was crossing the road at Hayathnagar.
On March 19, 2025, Dr. Soha Fatima, a 23-year-old doctor, died after a fire engine collided with the scooter she was riding in Attapur. Her colleague was critically injured. On March 8, 2025, a hit-and-run accident in Bachupally led to the death of K. Nani, an engineering student, who was run over after being struck by an unidentified vehicle.
On March 7, 2025, 19-year-old Kanishk Reddy died in a crash on the Outer Ring Road after a car collided with a lorry. These incidents follow a string of fatal accidents, including the deaths of two doctors in January 2025 after their car lost control near Khanapur and Dr. Nilay Reddy’s death in a crash on the ORR in September 2024. The city has witnessed multiple fatalities involving pedestrians and motorcyclists struck by heavy vehicles.
