Car catches fire near HITEX, no injuries

HYDERABAD:A moving car caught fire near HITEX within the limits of Madhapur police station in Hyderabad on Tuesday night.
The incident occurred on a busy stretch close to the exhibition centre, causing brief panic among motorists. According to police, flames were first noticed from the engine compartment while the vehicle was in motion.
The occupants immediately stopped the car and got out after spotting smoke and fire. No injuries were reported.
Fire personnel reached the spot soon after being alerted and doused the flames. The vehicle was partially damaged in the incident.
Cyberabad Traffic Police diverted vehicles and cleared the affected stretch to prevent congestion. Traffic movement returned to normal after the fire was brought under control.
Police suspect a short circuit in the engine area may have triggered the blaze. An inquiry is under way to ascertain the exact cause.
