Private bus catches fire near Kukatpally in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Eighteen passengers escaped unhurt after a private travels bus caught fire near Padmavathi Plaza bus stop in KPHB (Kukatpally Housing Board) on Friday night.
The AC sleeper bus (NL02B9955), belonging to Sri Durga Maheshwari Travels, was travelling from Miyapur to Palakollu when the incident occurred around 10.45 PM.
The fire reportedly began in the driver’s cabin. Bus staff acted quickly and evacuated all passengers before the flames spread across the vehicle.
Traffic Circle Inspector Janayya and fire personnel rushed to the spot. They brought the blaze under control after it engulfed the bus.
Officials said the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
The incident led to heavy traffic congestion in the KPHB area for some time.
