Hyderabad gets Budvel–ORR trumpet flyover

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority has begun preparations to build a new trumpet flyover linking the city directly to the Outer Ring Road from Budvel Layout. The state government has accorded administrative sanction for the project, estimated to cost ₹488 crore.
Direct city-to-ORR connectivity
The flyover will connect Budvel Layout to Radial Road–2, improving access from the city to the ORR and, via the radial corridors, onward travel to the Regional Ring Road. Officials said the project aims to strengthen last-mile connectivity to the ORR.
International-standard interchange
Designed on the lines of the trumpet interchange at Neopolis Kokapet, the new structure will merge Radial Road–2 with the ORR near the 143-km marker. The interchange will be built to international standards, officials said.
Traffic relief, DPR ready
Authorities said the project will also provide connectivity to the proposed Musi riverfront and ease traffic towards Gachibowli, Kokapet and Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. The detailed project report has been completed, tenders are at the final stage, and funds will be mobilised from HMDA’s internal resources.
