Police Investigate Clash At Hyderabad Hotel Over Biryani Dispute
HYDERABAD: A dispute over missing chicken pieces in a biryani order escalated into a violent clash at a hotel in Bharathnagar on Thursday night, leading to complaints and counter-complaints at the Sanathnagar police station.

Customer raises assault allegation

Police inspector D Ashok said the incident occurred around 12:30 am. P Arun, a 21-year-old car driver from HP Road in Bharathnagar, first asked his friend Dileep to buy a jumbo chicken biryani pack from Victoria Hotel. However, since the hotel had only four single biryani packs, Dileep purchased those instead.

After reaching home, Arun and his friends said they found no chicken pieces in the packets. Following this, Arun returned to the hotel with his friends Dileep, Rakesh, and Shiva to question the owner, Mohsin.

An argument started at the spot. Arun alleged that Mohsin and his staff used abusive words and then attacked him with a large cooking spoon. He suffered a head injury and later received eight stitches at a private hospital in Kukatpally. He also claimed that the group damaged motorcycles parked outside the hotel.

Hotel owner denies charges and files counter case

Hotel owner Mohsin and his staff rejected the allegations. In their complaint, they said the group caused trouble after staff told them the hotel had already closed.

They also stated that Arun and his friends damaged property inside the dining area. According to them, the group threw sofas and kicked at doors in the air-conditioned hall. In addition, they alleged that Arun’s group attacked them with stones and sticks, leaving staff injured.

Police register cases against both sides

Police registered cases after receiving complaints from both parties. They booked those involved under Sections 118(2), 352, and 324(2) read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Meanwhile, officials have issued notices to both groups and started an investigation into the incident.
