Hyderabad police arrest four interstate bike thieves

HYDERABAD: The City Crime Station (CCS) Special Crime Team and Gandhinagar police arrested four members of an interstate gang involved in a series of motorcycle thefts in the city. Police seized 10 two-wheelers from the accused.

Acting on credible information, police kept surveillance near MM Pahadi in Attapur and apprehended the four on April 23.

The accused are Mohammed Riyaz, 18, unemployed; Syed Ahmed Ali, 18, a sofa warehouse worker; Mohammed Fardeen, 18, a cook; and Mohammed Bin Isa, 17, a child in conflict with law, an air-conditioner technician from Bahadurpura.

Stolen vehicles include Honda Dio, Pulsar models

Police recovered 10 two-wheelers from the accused, including eight Honda Dio vehicles, one Hero Glamour, and one Bajaj Pulsar NS-200.

Accused used Instagram to coordinate thefts

The crime team found that the accused used social media platforms such as Instagram to carry out their activities. Police monitored their posts and movements before arresting them in Attapur using technical evidence.

During inquiry, the accused confessed to committing thefts under the limits of Balanagar, Gandhinagar, Kollur and Attapur police stations.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crimes) S. Chaitanya Kumar, supervised by Assistant Commissioner of Police G. Venkateswara Reddy. Inspector CH Sudhakar Rao and his team executed the arrests.
