Traffic restrictions announced for Bibi-ka-Alam procession in Hyderabad on June 26

Traffic police manage vehicles near Charminar during Jumat-ul-Vida restrictions

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Traffic Police has announced traffic restrictions and diversions in connection with the Bibi-ka-Alam procession scheduled on June 26. The restrictions will remain in force from 12.00 IST to 22.00 IST along the procession route.

According to the advisory issued by Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) D. Joel Davis, IPS, vehicular movement will be regulated at several junctions as the procession passes through different localities.

Traffic towards Bibi-ka-Alawa will be diverted at Sunargalli ‘T’ Junction towards Dabeerpura Darwaza and Ganga Nagar Nala via Yakutpura.

Vehicles heading towards Shaik Faiz Kaman will be diverted at Jabbar Hotel towards Dabeerpura Darwaza or Chanchalguda, depending on traffic conditions.

Traffic from Etebar Chowk towards Bada Bazar will be diverted towards Kotla Alija or Purani Haveli. Similar diversions will be enforced at various locations as the procession progresses through Ganga Nagar Nala, Etebar Chowk, Kotla Alija, Charminar, Miralam Mandi and Alawa Sartauq.

When the procession reaches Charminar, vehicles from Shakkerkote will be diverted at Mitti-ka-Sher Junction towards Ghansi Bazar or Chelapura. Traffic from Nayapool will be diverted at Madina X Road towards City College.

Traffic from Chaderghat Rotary, Noorkhan Bazar, Salar Jung Museum and Shivaji Bridge will also face diversions when the procession reaches Miralam Mandi. Vehicles from Gowliguda and Afzalgunj will not be allowed towards Salar Jung or Shivaji Bridge and will be diverted accordingly.

The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) district buses will be diverted via Rang Mahal and Afzalgunj for entry and exit from 10.00 IST to 21.00 IST. Buses will not be allowed on Kalikabar and Miralam Mandi Road until the procession reaches its destination.

The Hyderabad Traffic Police has appealed to commuters to avoid the affected routes, use alternative roads and plan their travel accordingly.
