Banjara Hills man fined ₹5,000 for overhead tank overflow

HYDERABAD: Authorities imposed a fine of ₹5,000 on a house owner in Banjara Hills for allowing water from his overhead tank to overflow onto the street.
The incident occurred at house number 8-2-682/A/1 on Road No.12, Banjara Hills, belonging to A. Raj Kumar (CAN: 620611107). Officials of Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board’s Operation and Maintenance Division 6, Tattikhana section, found that he was pumping borewell water into the overhead tank when it overflowed onto the road.
A duty manager noticed the water wastage and, acting on the instructions of Managing Director Ashok Reddy, served a notice to the resident of Banjara Hills and levied a penalty of ₹5,000 for negligence.
