Banjara Hills and Himayatnagar shopping streets in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Two of Hyderabad’s key retail corridors Banjara Hills and Himayatnagar have been ranked among the Asia-Pacific region’s 50 most valuable shopping streets in Cushman & Wakefield’s Main Streets Across the World 2025 report.

The two neighbourhoods share the 48th position, supported by headline rents of about $30 per sq ft per year, or roughly ₹2,680 per sq ft. With this entry, Hyderabad becomes the only city from the Telugu states to feature on the Asia-Pacific list.

Banjara Hills reflects premium retail focus
Banjara Hills has long positioned itself as a preferred destination for premium boutiques, cafés, flagship outlets and designer-led retail. Its relatively calm environment and high-income catchment have made it attractive for brands seeking visibility and steady demand.

Himayatnagar thrives on volume and accessibility
Himayatnagar, by contrast, functions as a traditional high street with strong footfall. The area hosts jewellery stores, bakeries, bookshops, ethnic wear outlets, stationery stores and popular food joints, drawing a diverse and loyal customer base.

Global signal for Hyderabad’s retail market
Cushman & Wakefield’s annual report assesses prime retail streets worldwide based on factors such as rent potential, brand demand, footfall and consumer behaviour. The inclusion indicates that Hyderabad’s retail market is gaining international relevance as both global brands and local businesses expand their presence.
