Hyderabad police apprehend man for illegally selling expired Nandini milk powder

Hyderabad: The Central Zone Task Force, along with Musheerabad Police, arrested an individual for illegally procuring, storing, and selling adulterated and expired Nandini milk powder, which was marked “Not for Sale.” The operation was carried out in the Musheerabad area following a tip-off.

The arrested individual, identified as Chittaboina Damodar Yadav (46), a resident of Bolakpur, Secunderabad, was found transporting and selling expired milk powder meant for the Karnataka State Government’s Public Distribution Scheme under the “Ksheera Bhagya Scheme.” This scheme is intended to provide milk powder to schoolchildren, but Damodar Yadav was selling it to unsuspecting customers at inflated prices, putting public health at risk.

During the raid, 780 kilograms of milk powder were seized, including 330 kg in 11 bags of 30 kg each and 450 kg in 18 packets of 25 kg each.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of YVS Sudheendra, Dy. Commissioner of Police, Task Force, Hyderabad, with the assistance of Inspector of Police, Task Force Central Zone, SHO Musheerabad, Sub-Inspector, and the staff of Task Force Central Zone, Hyderabad. The seized goods have been handed over to the Food Safety Officers for further action.
