TGSRTC puts Ameen Ansari back on conductor duty

HYDERABAD: Despite a directive from Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Ameen Ahmed Ansari has returned to his conductor duties in the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC).
Directive not implemented for alternative posting
Ansari, who faces difficulty performing regular duties due to his height, was earlier assigned out-of-designation work for one year. After the tenure ended, he was asked to resume conductor duty, officials said.
Ansari said the chief minister had ordered that he be given an alternative job within TGSRTC. Transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar had also posted on X about the directive, following a report highlighting his condition.
Health issues return with daily bus operations
Ansari, who is about seven feet tall, said he has to bend constantly inside buses with a height of 195 cm (6 feet 4 inches). He completes up to 10 trips a day, leading to neck and back pain and sleep problems.
A resident of Shaheen Nagar in Chandrayangutta, Ansari was appointed as a conductor at Mehdipatnam depot on compassionate grounds after his father, M A Ansari, a head constable at Adil Kacheguda depot, died due to illness in 2021.
Officials said the out-of-designation duty period had ended and could be renewed if approved again.
