Lineman held for ₹11,000 bribe in Gachibowli

Hyderabad: A junior lineman of Gachibowli division in Hyderabad was caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on September 26 while accepting a bribe of ₹11,000.

Officials said the accused, A. Srikanth Goud, demanded ₹30,000 from a complainant to “change the wiring at his house for sustaining electricity inflow from 5 KV to 11 KV and to unseal and seal the electricity meter.” The bribe amount was recovered at his instance.

Accused sent to judicial remand

According to the ACB, Srikanth Goud performed his duty “improperly and dishonestly” by seeking illegal gratification for an official favour. He has been arrested and sent to judicial remand.

The case is under investigation.

ACB urges public to report corruption

The ACB has asked citizens to report bribery demands by government employees through its toll-free number 1064. Complaints can also be sent via WhatsApp (9440446106), Facebook (Telangana ACB), and X/Twitter (@TelanganaACB).

Officials assured that the identity of complainants would be kept confidential.
