Hyderabad ACB Arrests Four Officials Over Building NOC in Manikonda
Manikonda: The Anti corruption bureau(ACB) of Hyderabad nabbed an Executive Engineer and two Assistant Engineers from Irrigation department and a Surveyor working in Gandipet Mandal revenue office(MRO) while accepting a bribe on Friday.
The tainted officials were identified as K. Bhansi lal, Executive Engineer, K. Karthik and H. Nikhesh Kumar, Assistant Engineers, AW Section, Office of Superintending Engineer, Irrigation Circle, Ranga Reddy situated at Red Hills, Hyderabad and P.Ganesh, Surveyor from MRO Office, Gandipet.

They were caught red handedly while accepting the bribe amount of one lakh from the complainant Bommu Upendranath Reddy, a resident of Neknampur, Manikonda, Ranga Reddy District for showing official favour i.e. “to process and forward the No Objection Certificate(NOC) permission file for the construction of a building at Neknampur, Manikonda of the complainant”, said ACB in an official statement.
Officials demanded a whooping 2.5 lakhs
The tainted irrigation officials initially demanded Rs 2,50,000 as bribe from the complainant and already accepted Rs 1,50,000 as advance. Further the Surveyor demanded and accepted Rs.40,000 for conducting the survey. The accused officers thereby performed their public duty improperly and dishonestly, stated the ACB.
The bribe amount Rs 65,000 was recovered from the possession of K. Bhansi lal and another Rs 35,000 from the possession of H. Nikhesh Kumar at his instance. Both hand fingers of the accused yielded positive in the chemical test.
“The Accused Officers thereby performed their public duty improperly and dishonestly. ACB arrested the tainted officials and produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Court at Nampally, Hyderabad,” said ACB in an official statement. Further investigation is underway.
ACB appealed to the public to approach them through their Toll Free Number of A.C.B, i.e 1064 in case of demand of bribe by any public servant. Further assured to take action as per law.
