Proposed Elevated Corridor And Flyover Infrastructure Plan Across Hyderabad City

HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has planned 29 elevated corridors, flyovers and underpasses across Hyderabad. The projects aim for completion by 2028 to reduce traffic congestion and improve connectivity.

The plan includes corridor-level works, junction upgrades, road widening, and railway overbridges (ROBs) and underbridges (RUBs).

Corridor projects to ease traffic

A six-lane, two-way flyover will connect Miyapur to Alwyn Cross Road. Meanwhile, underpasses will link Lingampally to Gachibowli to improve traffic flow in the IT corridor.

In addition, the government will build grade separators at Mailardevpally, Shamshabad Road and Kattedan to reduce congestion.

Three major elevated corridors will also come up. These include Paradise Junction to Dairy Farm Road on NH-44, Paradise to Outer Ring Road near Shamirpet, and Banjara Hills Road No. 12 to Shilpa Layout.

Junction upgrades across key areas

The government will construct flyovers and underpasses at busy junctions such as Jubilee Hills Check Post, Film Nagar, Road No. 45 and NFCL Junction.

Furthermore, it will build multi-level flyovers at Khajaguda, IIIT, Wipro Junction, Rethibowli and Nanal Nagar, where traffic is heavy during peak hours.

Road widening and rail projects

The plan also includes road widening from NH-65 to Ameenpur and from Shastripuram to Engine Bowli. It will also cover internal roads in the Old City.

Additionally, authorities will build railway overbridges and underbridges at Serilingampally, RK Puram and Patigadda, as well as Chilkalaguda and Aramgarh.

Officials said the integrated plan will reduce travel time, improve last-mile connectivity and support Hyderabad’s growing urban expansion.
