Several hurt after honey bees attack villagers in Sangareddy

HYDERABAD: At least 15 people were injured after a swarm of honey bees attacked residents of Venkatapur village in Sadasivapet mandal of Sangareddy district on Friday morning.
According to villagers, the swarm suddenly flew into the settlement and began stinging people, triggering panic across the village. Residents ran for safety and many locked themselves inside their houses to avoid the attack.
Four school-going children were also among those injured in the incident.
One young man sustained serious injuries when hundreds of bees attacked him while he was riding a motorcycle through the village. He stopped the vehicle abruptly and tried to protect himself by pouring water over his body.
However, the swarm continued to sting him and no one came out to help, fearing further attacks.
The injured were shifted to the government hospital in Sadasivapet. Medical staff removed the stings and provided treatment.
Hospital sources said the condition of two injured persons was critical.
