Home guard injured in hit-and-run at Madhapur traffic signal

HYDERABAD: A home guard was injured after a speeding car rammed into him at a traffic signal in the Madhapur area of Hyderabad, police said on Saturday.
The incident occurred while the home guard, Nayeem, 45, was managing traffic at the Madhapur signal. Eyewitnesses said a car approaching at high speed hit him and sped away without stopping.
Local residents rushed to the spot and shifted the injured home guard to a nearby private hospital for treatment. His condition was not immediately known.
Madhapur police registered a hit-and-run case and began an investigation. Officers are scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the vehicle and trace the driver, police said.
