HMDA Website Down Concerns

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) website (hmda.gov.in) has been unavailable since yesterday (Tuesday), September 10, 2024, causing citizens to worry.

Lubna Sarwat, a citizen, Indian National Congress member of Telangana, and an environmental and social activist, raised the issue on September 11, 2024. She stated that the website appears to be “missing” and is not functioning properly.

The cause of the outage is currently unknown. It could be a technical glitch or a more serious issue.

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) website is a crucial resource for citizens seeking information and services related to the development and planning of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Region. Here are some of the key features citizens can’t access due to the outage:

• Planning and Development: Information on planning permissions, building permissions, layout permissions, and land use.

• Online Services: Access to online services such as the Transferable Development Rights (TDR) platform, building permissions, occupancy certificates, and more.

• Notifications and Updates: Latest updates and notifications related to urban development and planning.

• Projects: Details about ongoing and upcoming projects within the HMDA jurisdiction.

• Public Resources: Access to various documents, directories, and regulations.

Hyderabad citizens are concerned about the lack of access to these essential services and are urging the Telangana DGP to prioritise investigating the issue.

Additionally, requests have been made for the IT Department to intervene and resolve the problem as soon as possible to minimise the inconvenience caused.

This is not the first time residents have faced issues with accessing crucial information from Hyderabad government websites. Previously, the Hyderabad Mail reported challenges accessing contact information for local range officials. The lack of readily available contact details and website outage raised concerns about accessibility to essential services and emergency assistance.

Citizens are urging swift action to restore the HMDA website and ensure that essential services remain accessible to the public.
