HMDA flyover and elevated corridor projects planned in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority is planning another round of land auctions in the Greater Hyderabad region to mobilise funds for ongoing and proposed infrastructure projects, including metro rail-related commitments.

Auctions planned in key suburbs

Officials said land parcels in Uppal Bhagath, Mokila and Lemoor will be auctioned shortly. The process is expected to be completed by the end of this month. The move comes amid rising fund requirements for HMDA projects and the need to arrange ₹2,000 crore towards metro rail takeover-related payments.

₹2,500 crore revenue target

HMDA is targeting at least ₹2,500 crore through the upcoming auctions. Around three months ago, the authority raised ₹3,862 crore by auctioning land parcels in Kokapet.

Funds earmarked for road, flyover projects

The funds are intended for projects already proposed by HMDA, including the Radial Roads Phase-2 project, the trumpet flyover from Budvel to Kokapet, and works linked to institutions near Shankarpally.

Officials said significant funding is also required for the 3.57-km pipeline road development project from Manikonda, road widening along the Outer Ring Road’s left side from Nanakramguda to Gachibowli, and multiple elevated corridors.

These include the 9-km elevated corridor from Banjara Hills to Shilpa Layout, the 18-km elevated corridor from Jubilee Bus Station to Shamirpet, and the elevated corridor under construction from Paradise to Boingapally.

In addition, the government is considering routing the ₹2,000 crore payment required for the metro rail takeover from HMDA funds, officials added.

Plots available across layouts

HMDA has developed layouts and individual plots on several land parcels across the Greater Hyderabad limits. Officials said some plots have already been auctioned in Uppal Bhagath, Mokila, Inmulnarva, Lemoor and Turkayamjal.

Plots still available include 41 in Uppal Bhagath, 12 in Turkayamjal, 719 in Mokila, 164 in Lemoor and 37 in HUDA Heights. These will be included in the next round of auctions.
