HMDA fetches record ₹1.09 lakh per sq yard at Mokila layout auction
HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) fetched a record-high bid of ₹1.09 lakh per sq yard at its Mokila layout e-auction held over two days, earning ₹231 crore from the sale of 100 residential plots.
The highest bid was more than double the government-fixed upset price of ₹50,000 per sq yard. The average bid stood at ₹75,640 per sq yard, reflecting strong demand for residential plots in the layout.
HMDA conducted the e-auction in two phases, auctioning 50 plots on Monday and the remaining 50 on Tuesday.
Officials said the auction attracted buyers from Hyderabad and neighbouring regions, indicating sustained confidence in HMDA-developed layouts and continued demand for planned residential communities.
They attributed the strong response to Mokila’s strategic location in Hyderabad’s rapidly expanding western corridor.
Eastern layout also records robust bidding
Strong demand was also seen at HMDA’s Medipally layout auction. The highest bid reached ₹80,000 per sq yard, against an upset price of ₹45,000 per sq yard.
Officials said the competitive bidding at both locations reinforced HMDA’s strategy of monetising prime land parcels through transparent e-auctions.
