HMDA announces auction of Kokapet Neopolis and Moosapet land parcels in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority will conduct another round of land auctions today, covering multiple parcels under its jurisdiction. The auction process will run for three days.

HMDA puts six Neopolis plots on sale

HMDA has lined up six plots spread across 41 acres in Kokapet Neopolis. The authority has fixed an upset price of ₹99 crore per acre for these parcels.

In addition, HMDA will auction 1.98 acres at Site-2 in Golden Mile, 11.48 acres in Moosapet, and two sites spread over 3.1 acres. Officials said plots numbered 17 and 18 in the Neopolis venture will be offered at 11am on Monday.

Auctions are scheduled for November 24, November 28 and December 3.

Moosapet parcels listed despite local demand for civic use

The authority has fixed upset prices of ₹99 crore per acre for Kokapet plots, ₹70 crore for Golden Mile and ₹75 crore for the Moosapet site.

Under the Hyderabad Urban Development Authority, land parcels in survey numbers 121–141, 146, 147 and 155–157 of Moosapet village limits in Kukatpally mandal totalling 11.48 acres and another 3.1 acres have been prepared for sale. Local residents, however, have demanded that these lands be retained for public infrastructure.

Truck terminal may vanish if land is sold

During the BRS government, the land about 15 acres at Moosapet on the city outskirts was earmarked for industrial logistics and parking facilities under the HUDA master plan. The site functioned as a truck parking yard for decades, helping prevent heavy vehicle congestion in the city.

Residents and former users say selling the land could lead to the disappearance of the truck terminal. They also fear the area will be filled with large real estate projects in the future.
