Modi to inaugurate Hitech City station on July 17
HYDERABAD: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the redeveloped Hitech City railway station virtually on July 17.
The station is among 75 railway stations redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat scheme, which will be dedicated to the nation simultaneously through a virtual event.
South Central Railway has invited Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, and Union ministers G Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay to attend the programme.
₹26 crore project adds lifts, bridge, waiting hall
The station has been redeveloped at a cost of ₹26 crore. Located near the Hitech City, Gachibowli and Financial District IT corridor, it handles thousands of commuters and passengers daily.
A total of 62 Multi-Modal Transport System (MMTS) and suburban trains operate from the station every day.
Railway officials said the redevelopment includes two additional lifts, upgrades to the main entrance, a new 12-metre-wide foot overbridge, a larger waiting hall, new toilets and a new station building.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the station at 3 pm on July 17.
