Jubilee Hills accident case resurfaced during the investigation of another road accident case allegedly involving Raheel, reported in the Panjagutta police station area in late December 2023. Going further into the details,
Mohammed Raheel Aamir along with his two friends Syed Afnan Ahmed and Mohd. Maaz Moheet Khan was on the way to jubilee hills and Aamir was at the wheel. They were passing through Road No.45, Jubilee Hills and at around 8 p.m. their speeding car was uncontrolled and it rammed on to the divider near HDFC Bank. As a result, some balloon sellers who were sitting on the divider got badly injured and one infant also died in the accident.
Immediately after the accident, Aamir ran away leaving the vehicle. Aamir’s friend Syed Afnan Ahmed was implicated in the case by requesting him to surrender before the Police as Aamir is the son of MLA and his reputation will be tarnished. Aamir along with other people assured Ahmed that there won’t be any case booked against him.
After a year, Syed Afnan Ahmed received Court summons for his appearance and he came to know that F.I.R. was booked against him. Subsequently Ahmed tried to approach Aamir and as there was no response from the petitioner and his relatives.Ahmed realized that he was cheated and falsely implicated them in the criminal case and turned approver.
Meanwhile Mohammed Raheel Aamir has filed for anticipatory bail in the Jubilee Hills case with the High Court. In his application, Raheel emphasized his status as a law-abiding citizen and alleged that the police were targeting him due to his father’s political background as a former BRS MLA from Bodhan in Nizamabad district. He requested the court to prevent his arrest or any infringement on his liberty, highlighting that he has not been named as an accused in the case.
He urged the court to prevent his arrest or any interference with his liberty, stressing that he was not named as an accused in the case.
Public prosecutor Palle Nageswara Rao, representing the police asserted that Raheel had been driving the car in an intoxicated and reckless state while talking on his mobile phone when the accident occurred in March 2022, leading to the toddler’s death.
After hearing both the parties, Justice N. Tukaramji dismissed his plea, indicating that the case was not suitable for any relief at this stage.
