Naga Chaitanya approaches Delhi HC against AI content, unauthorised online use

HYDRABAD : The Delhi High Court on Thursday indicated that it is likely to pass orders in a personality rights suit filed by Telugu actor Akkineni Naga Chaitanya.
The actor has sought legal protection against a range of alleged online violations involving the use of his name, image and identity across digital platforms.
Alleged misuse across multiple platforms
According to the plea, pornographic websites have been using the actor’s name without authorisation. The suit also raises objections to the sale of unauthorised merchandise allegedly linked to the actor.
The petition further flags AI-generated content featuring Naga Chaitanya and his former spouse. The actor has argued that such content infringes his personality rights.
Objection to YouTube content
The suit also targets several YouTube videos that, according to the actor, violate his personality rights and exploit his identity without consent.
During the hearing, the High Court indicated that it was inclined to pass orders in the matter. The case concerns the protection of an individual’s commercial and personal rights against unauthorised online use.
