Three arrested for Heroin possession and sale in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: In a crackdown against drug smuggling, District Trask Force(DTF) of Prohibition and Excise department, Shamshabad unit has seized 70 grams of heroin worth Rs. 3.50 lakh and arrested three drug peddlers.
The accused, identified as Ajmal Hessen, Noor Azam Khan, and SK Suroj, all hailing from West Bengal, were caught while attempting to sell heroin reportedly brought from the Malda area of West Bengal.
According to Excise Inspector Praveen Kumar, the accused bought the heroin for Rs. 70,000 and were selling it in Hyderabad for Rs. 500 per gram, making a profit. The three individuals came to the city from West Bengal in search of livelihood and resorted to drug peddling, thinking it would be more profitable than regular labor work.

The arrests were made by the Excise Department’s District Task Force (DTF) Shamshabad unit led by Excise Inspector Praveen Kumar arrested the accused behind Apollo Hospital in Serilingampally. The accused have been handed over to local police for further investigation.
Excise Enforcement Director V.B. Kamalasan Reddy, Rangareddy District Deputy Excise Commissioner Dasharath, and Excise Superintendent Krishna Priya commended the DTF team for their successful operation.
