Cab driver dies of heart attack while driving in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A man tragically died due to a heart attack while on duty in Hyderabad at midnight on October 4, 2024.

The individual, has been identified as a taxi driver, suffered the heart attack while driving the vehicle, leading to a fatal incident.

The Telangana Gig and Platform Workers Union (@TGPWU) expressed their condolences on X (formerly known as Twitter), stating, “A taxi driver tragically suffered a heart attack and passed away while on duty in Hyderabad.” They highlighted the pressing concerns regarding the mental and physical strain that drivers face daily.

The union called for immediate attention to the health and safety of those who tirelessly serve the community, stating, “It’s time to address the health and safety of those who work tirelessly to serve us. Rest in peace, in service.”

In a separate incident, it was reported that a man died of a heart attack while shopping at a Jockey showroom near Pragathi Nagar in Kukatpally under KPHB Police Station limits on October 2, 2024.

The deceased has been identified as 37-year-old Kalal Praveen Goud, who collapsed while purchasing clothes. Employees at the Jockey showroom promptly rushed him to a nearby hospital, but doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Another tragic case involved a young software engineer, Shyam Prasad, who suffered a heart attack after participating in Ganesh Utsav celebrations on the night of September 15, 2024, at Alkapuri Township Colony in Manikonda, Ranga Reddy District.

Shyam Prasad took part in the laddu auction organised by the Alkapuri Township Ganesh Utsav Committee before his death. He was actively engaged in the festivities, dancing and singing as the laddu was auctioned for up to Rs 15 lakh.

After the event, Shyam Prasad returned home but collapsed shortly afterward. Despite efforts to revive him, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminary reports suggest he suffered a heart attack.
