Police stations turned into Congress offices: Harish Rao slams Telangana government
Gachibowli: After being released from Gachibowli police station, former Minister and senior BRS leader T Harish Rao lambasted the Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and decried that the law and order has deteriorated in the state.
Rao accused Revanth Reddy of implementing a “demon’s rule” characterized by excessive police action, illegal arrests, and targeting opposition leaders. Speaking from the Gachibowli police station premises of Cyberabad commissionerate, Harish Rao alleged, “Police stations became Congress Party offices. FIRs are being prepared in Gandhi Bhavan, not in the police stations. Revanth Reddy won’t stay forever. Police should work adhering to constitution and law.”
The BRS leader raised concerns about Huzurabad MLA P Kaushik Reddy’s arrest, demanding his unconditional release. Speaking on the Padi Kaushik Reddy case and his custody, Harish said, “Police station is a public property, not private. Public with grievances can come and register them. Why the trespassing case against Kaushik Reddy for entering public property(Banjara Hills)?”
He criticized the manner of arrest, questioning the delay in presenting the MLA before a magistrate. “Why was he not given bail? Why wasn’t he produced before the magistrate? Why wasn’t he taken to court? Didn’t you get instructions from Gandhi Bhavan?” Harish criticized.

Rao highlighted several unfulfilled promises, including the Warangal Declaration’s nine promises, Rythu Bandhu support, senior citizen pensions, and farmer loan waivers.
In retaliation to Revanth Reddy’s call regarding the suggestion to be given, “We are giving a lot of suggestions. For instance, we demanded to implement the six guarantees promised during the Telangana Assembly Elections, 2023. We ask to implement the nine assurances given during the Warangal declaration meeting. As demanded by you, we are demanding Rythu Bandhu three times but you aren’t giving Rs 15,000 Rythu Bandhu as promised. We demand to increase the old age pension to Rs 4,000 as assured. We suggested not demolishing the houses of poor people during the Musi rejuvenation plan. But you didn’t even consider one suggestion from us. We demanded an all party meeting but went into vain. You don’t have the wisdom to take our suggestion.”
He claimed the government has failed to provide minimum support prices for farmers and resolve issues facing police and home guards. Harish alleged that police departments are facing funds crunch. He said, “Four surrender leaves of Rs 30,000 each are pending, and your government didn’t release them. Traveling allowance(TA) is pending for seven months. Under KCR’s leadership in the BRS government, each station got Rs 75,000 monthly. But you stopped the station allowance.”
