Complaint alleging MCC violation against BRS MLA Harish Rao in Patancheru

HYDERABAD: A complaint has been submitted to the Election Commission alleging a violation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) by BRS MLA Harish Rao during the ongoing election period.

According to the complainant, Harish Rao, while addressing whistle-stop meetings at Isnapur and Jinnaram in Patancheru, allegedly urged voters to accept money from the Congress and vote in favour of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi.

The complainant alleged that such remarks amount to an attempt to bribe voters and undermine the integrity of the electoral process, in violation of the MCC guidelines. The complaint claimed the remarks compromised the voters’ right to a free and fair choice.

Seeking immediate intervention, the complainant urged the Election Commission of India to initiate action against the MLA for the alleged violation.

There was no immediate response from Harish Rao or the BRS at the time of filing this report.
