Hanuman Jayanthi Celebrated with Fervour Across Telangana

HYDERABAD: Devotees celebrated Hanuman Jayanthi with great religious fervour across Telangana on Thursday. Temples saw heavy footfall, while streets displayed saffron flags and festive decorations.
Long queues formed at major temples. These included the Sri Tadbund Veeranjaneya Swamy Temple in Hyderabad and the Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy Temple in Jagtial district. Devotees gathered in large numbers to seek blessings.
Meanwhile, temples conducted special prayers and bhajans throughout the day. In the afternoon, committees distributed free food, prasadam, and drinking water to visitors.
Veera Hanuman Vijay Yatra Draws Huge Crowd
A major highlight of the day was the ‘Sri Veera Hanuman Vijay Yatra’ organised by the Bajrang Dal. The procession started from Sri Ram Mandir in Gowliguda and moved towards the Tadbund Hanuman temple.
Participants, mostly youngsters, joined the rally with enthusiasm. They wore saffron turbans and kurthas. The procession passed through Narayanguda, RTC Crossroads, Ashok Nagar, Kavadiguda, and Bible House before reaching its destination.
In addition, around 168 smaller processions from across the city joined the main rally this year.
Tight Security Arrangements Across the City
Hyderabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar held a coordination meeting at Osmania Medical College in Koti ahead of the event. He issued clear guidelines to officials and organisers.
Police deployed around 3,000 personnel across key locations. Authorities also positioned additional armed forces and Task Force teams to maintain law and order.
Moreover, officials set up a Joint Control Room at the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) in Banjara Hills. Representatives from multiple departments monitored the situation in real time.
Organisers monitored participants and reported any suspicious activity. Volunteers from ‘rope party’ teams helped manage crowds. Authorities also ensured that processions followed designated routes and avoided narrow lanes.
Devotees Brave Heat; Celebrations Across Districts
Despite the heat, devotees thronged the Kondagattu temple and waited patiently for darshan.
At the same time, several districts, including Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, and Mahbubabad, reported similar celebrations and rallies.
