Customers allege expired products at Attapur Haldiram’s
HYDERABAD: Customers raised concerns at a Haldiram’s sweets outlet in Attapur, alleging that several food items were being sold without mentioning manufacture and expiry dates on the packaging.
According to customers present at the store, some packaged products on display had crossed their expiry date but were still being offered for sale. They questioned the store management over the alleged lapses and sought clarity on food safety standards being followed at the outlet.
Shoppers said the absence of mandatory labelling details, including date of manufacture, expiry date and batch number, raised serious concerns about compliance with food safety regulations. They also pointed to improper display and storage of certain perishable items.
Complaint lodged with authorities
Following the incident, a formal complaint was lodged with Food Safety officials seeking an inspection of the outlet and appropriate action under relevant food safety laws.
Officials are expected to examine the allegations, verify whether labelling norms under the Food Safety and Standards Act were violated, and assess storage conditions at the store. If violations are confirmed, action may be initiated as per prescribed procedures.
There was no immediate response from the outlet management regarding the allegations.
